How to use
- Paste the student names — one per line, or separated by commas.
- Set the number of rows and the number of seats in each row.
- Choose Random or Sequential placement and press “Arrange seats”. Empty seats stay empty when the room is bigger than the class.
- Drag a name onto another seat (or use the seat menu) to rearrange, then Print — choose Landscape in the print dialog for wide rows.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between random and sequential?
Random shuffles the list before filling the seats; sequential fills them in the exact order you typed the names — useful for alphabetical or roster order.
What if there are more seats than students?
Extra seats are shown as empty desks — a realistic view of the room. Rearranging works the same way.
Can I print the chart?
Yes. The print layout shows only the chart, in a clean desk grid — pick Landscape in your browser's print dialog for wide rows.
Is the seating data private?
Completely. The chart is generated and held in your browser only — nothing is sent to a server or AI service.
