Frequently asked questions
What formula does this use?
Each category percentage = score ÷ total × 100. Its weighted contribution = percentage × weight ÷ 100. The final grade is the sum of all contributions.
Why must the weights add up to 100%?
Weights represent how much each category counts towards the final grade. If they don't total 100%, the final grade would be inflated or deflated, so the calculator blocks the result until they do.
Can I include extra credit?
Yes — enable “Allow extra credit” and scores above the category total are accepted (the category can exceed 100%).
Does anything leave my browser?
No. The weighted grade is computed locally with plain math — no server, no API, no AI is involved.
