Frequently asked questions
How is the percentage calculated?
Percentage = marks obtained ÷ total marks × 100. The calculator rounds the display to two decimals but keeps full precision for the grade lookup.
Can I use my school's own grading scale?
Yes. Choose “Custom” and set the minimum percentage for A, B, C and D — anything below the D minimum is an F.
What if a student scored more than the total marks?
That is extra credit. Turn on “Allow extra credit” and the calculator will accept a score above the total, giving a percentage over 100%.
Is my data sent anywhere?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser with plain arithmetic — nothing is uploaded, stored or shared.
