How is reading time calculated?
Reading time = word count ÷ words per minute. The defaults are slow 150 wpm, average 200 wpm and fast 300 wpm — the common ranges for silent reading.
Is the word count accurate?
It counts whitespace-separated words in your browser, so it matches how most word processors count. Punctuation-only tokens are ignored.
Do you keep the text I paste?
No — counting happens locally and nothing is stored, uploaded or sent to an AI service. You can paste confidential material safely.
