How to use
- Paste the student names — one per line, or separated by commas.
- Choose to split by number of groups or by students per group, then enter the number.
- Press “Generate groups” — every student lands in exactly one group, with sizes balanced (no group is more than one student larger than another).
- Move any student to another group with the dropdown beside their name, then Copy or Print the result.

Frequently asked questions
How are the groups made?
The list is shuffled with a Fisher–Yates shuffle, then dealt round-robin into balanced groups — sizes differ by at most one student and nobody appears twice.
Can I change a group by hand?
Yes — every student has a dropdown that moves them into any other group. Use “Re-generate” to reshuffle from scratch.
Do you keep my class list?
No. Grouping happens entirely in your browser; names are never sent to a server or AI service.
